It's Thursday Profile Day again! So today we're talking to CFNZ superstar, Carol Morrison.
How
long have you been a member at CFNZ? I completed my intro February this year – so, not far till the one year anniversary!
How did you end up walking through our
doors for the first time? Was there a pivotal event that led you to
us? I had been going to bootcamp and doing a bit of running however
decided I needed something more and was aware of Crossfit NZ – checked out your
website and thought that it sounded just like the challenge I was looking for.
Inov8's, Converse, or Reebok training
shoes? Currently I am training in my Nike Free runners – they are
great – shame about the colour though.
Can you remember your first
workout? What was it like? A serious adrenalin pump and was
blown out at the end even though Jojo had prepared us well for what lay ahead.
What tunes do you like working out to? I
am a rocker from way back and a good rock song seems to intensify the workout –
makes it more enjoyable!!!
What has been one of the biggest things
in your life that has changed since starting CrossFit? Crazily enough
I now feel I’m invincible – everything is achievable “Take every opportunity
and give it your best shot” is my new mantra.
What
are you doing when you aren't CrossFitting? Career, hobbies etc: I work for Fletcher Living, building terrace
homes at Stonefields – a job I have had for 11 years – I love it and get such a
buzz out of putting our purchasers into their new homes. I enjoy running
– trails and half marathons. Skiing is my winter passion and with a
daughter in Queenstown I have every excuse to visit often. Loving my
extended family – they are awesome.
Is there a CFNZ member who inspires
you? The coaches – Darren, Amanda, Craig, Mikey, - amazing –
and the interns – all so encouraging and Atalay – for making me run
faster. And the whole community – just so many reasons to keep coming
back and doing my damnnest.
What achievement at CFNZ are you most
stoked about? Squats Squats Squats – all types of squats –
after 9 months I am almost there.
What would you like to have achieved at CrossFit NZ a year from now? Squats, Pullups, HSPU, lifting heavier weights, mastering technique/full range of motion/flexibility – I want it all!!!!!!

Tabata 8 x20/10 of each movement, with 1min rest between exercises
