Today's profile is with CFNZ intern, and Regionals Team Manager Wesley Verhoeff.
How long have you been a member at CFNZ?
Since March 2011
How did you end up walking through our doors for the first time?
I'm originally from out west Auckland and was doing CrossFit on my own.
Then we moved to Ellerslie so I jumped at the chance to train with (in my opinion) the best CrossFit athletes and coaches in the country.
Inov8's, Converse, or Reebok training shoes?
Inov8's, I love the Bare X style you can feel everything.
Can you remember your first workout? What was it like?
First every workout was 300. I loved it. I didn't do very well but love that you could compare your time with everyone else's.
What tunes do you like working out to?
Some thing Heavy (Disturbed) or with a fast beat (dirty dub step).
What has been one of the biggest things in your life that has changed since starting CrossFit?
It's a little bit shallow but my body shape has completely changed. I have always worked out a lot and never attained the body I was after. Since training consistently CrossFit and eating Paleo at CFNZ I have had the least injuries, am stronger/fitter than ever and have the body I always wanted.
What are you doing when you aren't CrossFitting? Career, hobbies etc
I work for Unitec Institute of Technology's Department of Sport. Teaching on their Bachelor of Sport. I primarily teach in the areas of sport and exercise science and yes Dan Rankin is one of my students.
Is there a CFNZ member who inspires you?
Fale. I love his attitude he's always positive and he pushes me to be better.
He's going to be such an awesome Dad.
What achievement at CFNZ are you most stoked about?
Being asked to be involved with the CFNZ team. Its a great privilege and I love to be able to help them. They are awesome and I am so proud to be involved with with them.
Favourite food?
