This is what I found when I Googled "donkey kick"......
During Olympic lifts, how do you give yourself the maximum amount of time to arrange your body in a strong position to receive a heavy barbell?
Elevate said barbell higher......
How do you elevate it?
Create momentum.
How do you create momentum?
We often give you the cue to "jump!" But sometime that results in something that looks like THIS. Sorry Albert, whoever you are, but you are stamping your feet just for the sake of a loud noise. We call this a donkey kick.
As a result, you aren't delivering optimal elevation and momentum to the bar. The longer your feet stay in contact with the ground, the more elevation and momentum you can deliver.
What we want to see is something more like THIS. Next time you lift, think about explosively shoving the ground away from you, rather than trying to jump off of it.......you donkey.......
