So it's our birthday next month, and we're celebrating the only way a CrossFit gym knows how - with a couple of workouts....... 5 weeks from now, we're hosting a friendly and fun competition open to all levels of fitness. We've called it Battle Royale (not that we used to love professional wrestling or anything as a child......it's not fake you know!!)
And because we're turning 4 years old, it's going to be 4 x as good as last year! The emphasis is on a competition suitable for anyone, and we'll have plenty of fun stuff that you haven't seen before, including new toys from Industrial Athletic.
Entries are currently to CFNZ members only (you will be receiving an email today with details), and then will be extended to all other CrossFitters next Monday. Cost will be $25.
Categories
CAPACITY- run, row, carry, drag and move your bodyweight. Nothing technical, nothing too heavy, just a test of your heart and will. Perfect for beginner to intermediate CrossFitters and general fitness enthusiasts.
CHALLENGE - moderate weight Olympic lifts, low rep pullups and other bodyweight movements well suited to CrossFitters with at least 6 months CrossFit experience.
COMPETITOR - can perform the average CrossFit workout as prescribed, proficient with Olympic lifting (3/4 BW snatch, BW C+J), and you don't throw up in your mouth when you hear the words Overhead Squat, HSPU, or Double Unders........

Workout
Weighted Pullups 5 x 3 (heavy across), alternated with 1 TGU each arm (increase load)
Then,
Max reps pullups in 2min
Max reps Sandbag TGU in 2 mins
Max reps wallball in 2 mins
Max reps situps in 2 mins
